Let’s be honest – we’re all told not to, but somehow, we subconsciously disobey and judge a book by its cover.
A book is designed as a work of art. Therefore, it makes sense why a book’s cover is open for judgment.
A good book should have a good cover. The cover should help give a first impression of the story. It should be captivating, inviting, and revelatory to some degree.
A book’s cover should be on brand with the message and the author. A good book’s cover is a complement to the story itself.
I used to suck with first impressions. I’d come across as too strong or over-the-top. Now, I’m working with my remarkably gifted friend & designer to create a book cover for raging seas & Rising Suns. The cover design is the first impression of the book itself. Eli Potts came up with some strong first drafts!
